But how hard are you coaching these guys and how receptive are they to all the systems because I mean night in and night out for the most part, it does look the same and the results have shown them. Uh, and I, I want this to come out the right way. Hey Rod as you, as you look through this opening 14 game stretch or you know, opening stretch of the season and how well you guys have played. I mean he's, he's earned every bit of opportunity that he's getting, Mike's allergic. Um, No, he's certainly looking really well. You know, I think one of the first period where he just went around the defenseman took it harder than that. Yeah, well I think that's what we noticed right? Even at training camp, you could tell he was willing to get in there. Corey Rod, I know the last two didn't count, but the place is Seth is scoring from, is that what's maybe most encouraging about him not being nervous about getting into the middle of the ice, getting to the net any of that as a young guy.
Uh, and you know, that's a big part of the win tonight. You know, he made some big saves and allowed us to just keep playing our game. Like that's that's what it has to look like. And I think they want in a row like this, you know, it's gonna be a chore instead of playing well and uh our goaltending was really good tonight. Well, it's always important long road trip. I'm just curious to know how important was it to start this west Coast swing, You know what I mean with the victory and also uh speak on uh antes performance tonight as well. That was the attitude we have and you know, we did go ahead baby. I just thought we just got, let's just go in a period. We gave up a couple of opportunities and they capitalized on the second. Um, Yeah, I mean like, so we're up to came back after the second and it's tied to, it wasn't like we were playing poorly.
It's that's just part of the process if you're doing it right. I mean that part of it's not part of the plan and we don't talk about that. Kind of just sticking with putting a long shot. You don't need to have a ton of power place to get offense, which was the message from the second to the third. Right? That's how games coach now that you're going to create chances. Um, Yeah, but uh, I know I was entertaining lots of chances even without penalties. Everyone is kind of, it's a good flow of the game. Like they just let us play, let everyone play and um, yeah, I mean we could roll the lines, he was rolling his lines that we were rolling our lines. How much did it help only having one penalty, but kind of getting the workload. It's like their overall effort and the way we went about our business. They had a couple chances and they capitalized and then I just felt like we just kept playing and you know, we need to make some mistakes are going to play great for us. It's how it probably should look considering they're missing a lot of players, you know, um, I just thought we just stuck to our game the whole way we had, you know, obviously we had the lead, we gave it up, but, and that's going to happen. It certainly looks like it was, there was a great game for us.
I'm curious to hear your take on the game as a whole. He's got that dynamic ability, but he's uh, you know, it's also just learning how to play away from the puck so you can keep out there against their better players. Can you start myself with our self starters quarter today please? Uh, yeah, he's, you know, he had a really good game again.
